I should update my journal, since what you see is the ancient surgery post of several years ago.

I had my gall bladder taken out.  I had a major ear surgery that included a stay in the nuero ICU.  

Due to damage from a couple car accidents (that were not my fault, even!) I went out on disability.

I picked up an orchid hobby...although I have never gotten around to posting those pictures on here.

I have several hard drives that *someday* I need to get sent into data recovery and get my pictures back.

I don't have a high quality camera anymore, I sold the ones I had as they were getting outdated and I needed $ for bills and stuff.

I moved to another state.

I don't come around here much anymore, so posting something on here is probably going to get you a response...some time later...months maybe.

Well, life has been a bit nutty for the last couple months.  The boyfriend and I split.  At the beginning of November, end of October I had some weird issues.  I'd eat something and then get really nauseated about 30 mins to an hour later. I went to the ER a couple of times and they didn't find anything really wrong.  My regular doctor thinks I need my gall bladder removed or an exploratory  laparotomy.  (See what you can learn from watching Grey's anatomy? )  

That was November.  I ended up on short term disability.  The weekend before thanksgiving I developed a peritonsillar abscess.  I went to immediate care instead of the ER, which was a stupid decision.  The antibiotics I picked up from immediate care didn't really work, and I ended up getting sent to the ER so my ear nose and throat doc could lance the abscess.  I had my tonsils removed.

With all these illnesses, I ended up basically missing the entire holiday season.  I didn't make it to any of the work holiday parties, I  didn't get a chance to go out and do any holiday shopping, etc.  

I actually lost weight during the holidays, but when you can't swallow anything, it's easy to lose weight.  Not the best way to lose weight, but I did loose some.  Hopefully I can keep some of the weight off.

As of today the abdomen pain is still not resolved and I've had a bunch of tests, which are not showing anything as being really abnormal, other than the pain.  I see a GI specialist on Monday.  I'm not expecting anything great for a while.  I saw a surgeon earlier this week and he's not convinced that taking my gall bladder out would fix the problem.  I believe he's going to wait and see what GI does.

Blah.

I want my life back.

I know, I havn't posted in a long time.  My bf and I have been sucked into WoW (World of Warcraft).  Living 2 states away from each other, we end up spending a lot of time calling or online. (I met him on vacation last year).  

My summer camping vacation was great, although it rained a bit.

Work is good. Had to have some minor surgery last month, but health is good.

Busy busy busy....

As for the song, it's the song I'm currently listening to.

Owain Phyfe and the New World Renaissance Band.  It's awesome music.  If you get the chance to see Owain at a renaissance festival, I recommend going.

Ever have one of those days where you run right into a wall in everything you do?

This entire weekend's been like that.

Why are we bothered so much by things we cannot change, but we rail against them anyway?

I suppose I'm making progress on some of them, but it sure as @#$!$&%# doesn't seem like it.

I know, I finally updated a couple more shots for you guys, and once again it's pictures of snakes (or spiders). (Better than more cute kitten pictures, right?)  Reptiles and inverts are two of my major hobbies.  In fact, I think I've spent more on them than on the photography equipment.

I recently went on loan to another department at work so I've been busy and quite frazzled.  I have so many pictures that I haven't had the chance to work on.  

I should take my camera with me more often.  I really wish I'd captured the bus on fire on the side of the road as I was going into Chicago about a month ago.

I'm heading on to my vacation and visiting a friend in Germnay in a few days.  I'm looking forward to the break...and maybe it won't take me forever to get some more shots up for you guys.
